Unfortunately continuous rain and violent thunderstorms added to the disappointment of this site.

The region of North Holland is extremely beautiful and very different to the UK, due to it's flatness and all the canals and lakes. Some very lovely old villages;-Elburg and Amersfoort to mention 2, and of course the bulb fields and Keukenhof. Roads are also a joy to drive on - extremely good condition, wide motorways and no tolls (unlike France!)
